According to a statement on the Ministry’s official X page, the Minister described the partnership as a significant milestone in Nigeria’s effort to advance research and innovation. He stated that the proposed IIT campus would be located at the Federal Government Academy, Suleja, Niger State.

Dr. Alausa noted that the project aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration’s goal of promoting technological education and preparing Nigerian youths for global competitiveness.

“The Federal Government welcomes this partnership with India. We believe that establishing an IIT campus in Nigeria will open new opportunities for research collaboration, innovation, and human capital development,” he said.

He further explained that discussions between both countries were at an advanced stage and expressed optimism that the project would become a model for similar collaborations with other nations.

Representing the Indian Government, Indian High Commissioner Abhishek Singh reaffirmed India’s commitment to strengthening educational cooperation with Nigeria, especially in the fields of engineering, technology, and innovation.
