The Kano State government has declared a holiday for all primary and secondary schools in celebration of the upcoming Eid-el-Kabir festival. The announcement was made on Sunday by the state’s Commissioner for Education, Ali Makoda, through a statement issued by the Ministry of Education’s spokesperson, Balarabe Kiru.
According to the statement, the break will commence on Wednesday, June 4. Boarding students will remain on holiday until June 15, while day students are expected to resume on Monday, June 16.
Parents and guardians of boarding students have been directed to collect their children on the morning of June 4.
Commissioner Makoda emphasized that the rest of the 2024/2025 academic calendar remains unaffected, with all previously scheduled holidays and academic activities intact. He urged parents to ensure that their children return to school promptly after the break.
The commissioner also expressed gratitude to Kano residents for their continued cooperation and support, wishing all students a peaceful and joyous Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
