The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has called on Nigerians to approach 2026 with responsibility, patience, endurance, and integrity.
In a New Year message on Thursday, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, JAMB’s Public Communication Adviser, acknowledged that recent years have tested the patience and faith of Nigerians, but he highlighted that challenges often carry opportunities for renewal.
Dr. Benjamin emphasised that 2026 would reward those who remain focused, principled, and committed to doing what is right, even when it is difficult or unpopular. “Small acts of honesty, compassion, and resilience will matter more than ever,” he said, urging citizens not to lose hope despite prevailing national challenges.
According to the JAMB spokesman, the New Year offers a chance “to rebuild, rethink, and rise with greater purpose.” He encouraged Nigerians to persevere, stressing that hard work would bring unexpected rewards and that opportunities would emerge from current difficulties. “Healing and stability will gradually replace uncertainty, and cooperation across differences will strengthen our nation,” he added.
Dr. Benjamin further called on Nigerians to choose patience over despair, dialogue over division, and commitment over indifference, noting that collective positive actions are key to building a better future. “Each positive choice we make, no matter how small, adds to the future we all desire. Hold on. Stay steady. Keep moving forward. Better days are possible, and they are built by people who refuse to quit,” he stated.
He also encouraged citizens to remain steadfast in pursuing their dreams, supporting their families, and contributing meaningfully to national development. “Do not give up on your dreams, your families, and above all, your ability to contribute meaningfully to the development of our dear nation, Nigeria,” Dr. Benjamin said, stressing that the perseverance of ordinary citizens drives a nation forward, even when progress appears slow.
