JAMB Sets 150 as 2025/2026 University Cut-Off, Announces UTME Top Scorers

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has fixed 150 as the minimum cut-off score for university admissions for the 2025/2026 academic session in Nigeria.

The decision was revealed on Tuesday during the 2025 Policy Meeting on Admissions, held at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja. For other institutions, the board announced cut-off marks of 140 for colleges of nursing sciences, and 100 each for polytechnics and colleges of education.

β€œThe minimum admissible scores for admissions for the next academic session have been set at 150 for universities, 100 for polytechnics, 100 for colleges of education, and 140 for colleges of nursing sciences by stakeholders (Heads of Tertiary Institutions),” JAMB posted via its official X (formerly Twitter) handle.

Meanwhile, Tribune Online reports that JAMB has also disclosed the highest scorers in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). Topping the list is Okeke Chinedu Christian from Anambra State, who scored an impressive 375 out of 400.

JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ish-aq Oloyede, announced the results during the policy meeting, noting that Okeke has chosen the University of Lagos as his first choice to study Mechanical Engineering.

In second place is Ayuba Simon-Peter John from Gombe State, who scored 374 and selected Afe Babalola University (ABUAD) to also pursue Mechanical Engineering.

Jimoh Abdulmalik Olayinka from Kwara State came third with a score of 373, opting likewise for the University of Lagos to study Mechanical Engineering.
