Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has approved N200 million as a vehicle loan for primary and secondary school teachers across Kano State. The initiative is part of broader efforts by the state government to improve the welfare of teachers and strengthen the education system.

The loan is intended to support teachers in acquiring personal vehicles, easing transportation challenges, and enhancing their overall productivity and dedication to duty.

The governor made this known on Monday during the flag-off ceremony for the distribution of instructional materials to public schools. He described the loan scheme as a key component of his administration’s comprehensive education reform.

Governor Yusuf acknowledged the crucial role of teachers in shaping the future of children and said the loan would be disbursed under transparent and flexible conditions, prioritizing teachers who have shown commitment to their responsibilities.

He also revealed other education-focused interventions recently introduced by his administration. These include the distribution of instructional materials worth N2.8 billion, the recruitment of 4,000 staff under the Better Education Service Delivery for All (BESDA) program, the deployment of 17,600 school security guards, and the solar electrification of 200 schools with access to digital learning tools.

Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to advancing both educational infrastructure and human resources, Governor Yusuf described teachers as the foundation of sustainable development in the state.
