Bridge Charity Foundation, the philanthropic arm of WealthBridge Financial Services Holdings Limited, has unveiled the Bridge Foundation University Scholarship Programme, a ₦700 million education support initiative aimed at expanding access to quality tertiary education for Nigerian university students.
The programme highlights the Foundation’s dedication to education, social advancement, and sustainable nation-building, with special consideration for high-achieving students who exhibit leadership promise, strong moral character, and genuine financial need.
Through the scholarship, six successful candidates will be selected from eleven universities across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones. Beneficiaries will receive full tuition support, annual stipends, structured mentorship, and internship placements, offering both financial assistance and practical experience to equip them for future leadership responsibilities.
Speaking at the launch, the Group Chief Executive Officer of WealthBridge Financial Services Holdings Limited, Ahmed Adekunle Lawal, FCA, described the initiative as a reflection of the organisation’s belief in education as a driver of long-term development.
He noted that access to quality education remains one of the most effective tools for shaping individuals, communities, and the nation, adding that the scholarship programme represents a strategic investment in young Nigerians with the capacity to foster innovation, economic progress, and positive social change. Lawal further explained that the initiative extends beyond financial aid by prioritising mentorship and professional exposure to produce well-rounded graduates.
The Bridge Charity Foundation also disclosed that the selection process will be thorough, transparent, and merit-based, and will be managed by an independent panel of distinguished professionals drawn from academia, finance, governance, and the corporate sector. Members of the committee include Professor Adewale Adedamola Olawoyin, SAN; capital markets expert Tairat Tijani; governance specialist Mrs Ganiyat Taiwo Olusesi; and senior academic Prof. Ibrahim Abbas Sodangi.
According to the Foundation, the composition and diversity of the selection committee reflect its commitment to integrity, fairness, and excellence in the administration of the scholarship. The Bridge Foundation University Scholarship Programme is now open to eligible Nigerian university students nationwide.
