The Federal Government has officially released the results of the 2025 National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE) for admission into Junior Secondary School 1 in Federal Unity Colleges (FUCs) across Nigeria.
In addition to the NCEE, the government also announced the results of the separate entrance examination into the Federal Government Academy (FGA), Suleja. The announcement was made by the Minister of State for Education, Professor Suwaiba Ahmad, during a press briefing held in Abuja on Wednesday.
Describing the occasion as “a milestone of fulfilment and progress for basic education in Nigeria,” Ahmad noted that the NCEE was conducted by the National Examinations Council (NECO) on June 14. Out of 64,578 registered candidates, 61,290 sat for the examination while 3,288 were absent.
She revealed that 13 candidates scored the highest mark of 202 out of a possible 210, while 27 candidates scored the lowest mark of 1. Ahmad also disclosed that 52 candidates were caught engaging in examination malpractice—two from Lagos and 50 from Rivers State—marking the highest recorded number in the exam’s recent history.
Regarding the FGA Suleja examination, 3,421 candidates registered, 3,141 took the test, and 280 were absent. The highest score recorded in this category was 194, while the lowest remained at 1.
Ahmad reiterated that the criteria for admission into the Federal Unity Colleges remain 60 percent merit, 30 percent equality of states, and 10 percent exigency. She directed the Senior Secondary Education Department to ensure that admissions are concluded swiftly and in accordance with established guidelines.
Acknowledging the increasing demand for placement in FUCs, Ahmad reassured parents of the government’s continued commitment to improving infrastructure, feeding, and the quality of teaching staff in the schools.
The event also featured the formal handover of the results to the minister by the Registrar of NECO, Professor Ibrahim Wushishi.
