Scholarship Details
The Zeribe Nwosu Foundation hereby calls for applications for its inaugural Zeribe Nwosu Scholarship (ZNS) in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. This initiative is aimed at equipping Nigerian students and recent graduates with relevant, future-ready digital skills that complement their academic qualifications.
The scholarship is open to suitably qualified candidates who are passionate about emerging technologies and are willing to pursue careers in AI and Data Science. In addition to structured training and exposure to industry-relevant tools, successful applicants will receive a ₦150,000 cash grant to support their learning, skill development, and professional growth in these fast-evolving fields.
Eligibility Criteria
To be qualified for the ZNF AI and Data Science Scholarship 2026, applicants must:
- Be at least in Year 4 of undergraduate studies or not more than one year post-project defense
- Be a student or graduate of a Nigerian university or polytechnic (public or private)
- Have a minimum CGPA of 3.5 on a 5.0 scale (from Year 1–3)
- Be from any field of study (no discipline restriction)
Additional considerations include:
- Polytechnic students or candidates from institutions using a 4.0 CGPA scale may present a rough conversion, where 2.8/4.0 or 70% is acceptable
- Medical students must submit Year 1 results and evidence of a “Pass” in subjects taken in Years 2–3
- Graduates must have a final CGPA of at least 3.0 on a 5.0 scale or an equivalent 60%

Required Documents
Applicants must be prepared to submit the following documents:
- Personal Statement (1 page)
- Curriculum Vitae (CV) (1–2 pages, including a section listing AI/Data Science tools used or developed)
- One Letter of Recommendation on official letterhead (1–2 pages)
- Unofficial Academic Transcripts for Years 1–3 (applicants in Years 5, 6, or graduates should include additional transcripts where applicable)
- Statement of Need explaining why the scholarship is required (minimum 100 words, maximum 200 words)
- Work or Practical Portfolio demonstrating outputs in AI, Data Science, or both
The portfolio may include, but is not limited to:
- Publications
- GitHub profile
- Software or mobile applications developed
- Websites or databases created or maintained
- Evidence of skills in statistics, programming languages, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, data visualization tools, machine learning, and analytical problem-solving
