Scholarship Details
To attract outstanding international students, Zhongnan University of Economics and Law established the “Study in ZUEL” International Students Scholarship to provide financial assistance to deserving candidates. The scholarship is jointly funded by the Chinese Government and the university.
According to the university’s International Student Scholarship Management Measures, the “Study in ZUEL” Freshman Scholarship supports recipients during their first academic year in China. From the second year onward, students may apply annually for the “Study in ZUEL” Current Students Scholarship—excluding extension periods—based on academic performance, personal conduct, and participation in academic, cultural, and sporting activities.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the ZUEL Freshman Scholarship 2026, applicants must:
- Be a non-Chinese citizen holding a valid foreign passport
- Possess good character, a friendly attitude toward China, and no criminal record
- For undergraduate or Chinese-taught graduate programmes:
- Hold HSK Level 5 or above
- Demonstrate strong academic performance
- For English-taught graduate programmes:
- Hold an IELTS score of 6.0 or above, or
- A TOEFL score of 80 or above, or
- Proof of a previous degree programme taught in English
- Have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or above
- Not be a recipient of any other scholarship
