Scholarship Details
Zhengzhou University is the largest university in China with a student population of approximately 73,000 and ranks #510 among the top global universities. The university established the Zhengzhou University President Scholarship to promote international academic cooperation and attract outstanding international talents.
The scholarship is designed to support highly capable students with strong research potential. The scholarship admits students twice yearly: for the March intake (applications open from October 15 to December 15 of the previous year) and for the September intake (applications open from March 1 to June 15).
Eligibility Criteria
To be qualified for the Zhengzhou University President Scholarship, applicants must:
- Be a non-Chinese citizen, physically healthy, and without a criminal record.
- Abide by the laws and regulations of the People’s Republic of China and Zhengzhou University.
- Have a strong academic background and demonstrate good research potential.
- Not be registered as a PhD student in any Chinese university.
- Have an excellent academic record in a Master’s degree or equivalent qualification, and be below 40 years of age.
- Provide IELTS test results of 6.5 or above if from a non-English-speaking country.

Required Documents
To apply for this scholarship, applicants must prepare:
- CV and valid Passport (valid for at least one more year)
- Signed highest diploma (photocopy)
- Original or notarized degree certificates and full academic transcripts
- Notarized Chinese or English translations if original documents are in another language
- Statement of research interest and research proposal
- Two recommendation letters from professors with contact details
- Official language test results (HSK, IELTS, TOEFL, etc.)
- Foreigner Physical Examination Form with valid blood test results (valid for 6 months)
- Police clearance / No criminal record certificate
- Additional documents such as publications, academic awards, or professional qualifications (if available)
