Scholarship Details
The Yale Young Global Scholars (YYGS) program provides high school students aged 16–18 with the opportunity to live on Yale’s campus and participate in two-week academic sessions that combine rigorous study with cultural exchange. For the 2026 edition, participants will reside at Benjamin Franklin College and Pauli Murray College, both modern dormitories within walking distance of downtown New Haven.
A major feature of this year’s program is the introduction of air-chilled dorm rooms, offering a more sustainable and comfortable alternative to traditional air conditioning. All student and staff accommodations will have air chilling systems installed, ensuring a pleasant on-campus experience.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the YYGS 2026 Program, applicants must:
- Be 16–18 years old at the start of the program.
- Be enrolled in high school or equivalent at the time of application.
- Have a strong academic record and genuine interest in one of the academic tracks.
- Meet the general eligibility requirements listed on the YYGS official page.

Each track combines Yale faculty lectures, small-group seminars (with a 12:1 student-to-teacher ratio), and collaborative projects designed to foster critical thinking and global collaboration.
HOW to Apply
To apply for the Yale Young Global Scholars (YYGS) Program 2026, interested and eligible candidates should:
- Complete the online YYGS application form, including the Need-Based Financial Aid section, no later than January 7, 2026.
- Apply by the Early Action deadline to receive a discounted application fee.
- If the application fee poses a challenge, submit a fee waiver request to reduce the fee to $0 USD.
- Await feedback: Financial aid decisions and admission updates will be communicated by March 2026.
