The Vienna Biocenter Summer School is an intensive 9-week fully funded research program designed for undergraduate students who wish to deepen their understanding of life sciences. Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the Vienna Biocenter Summer School 2026, applicants must:
- Be studying a Life Science-related degree relevant to the research areas offered
- Have completed at least 2 years of university study by June 30 (e.g., 3rd year of a 4-year Bachelor’s program or 1st year of a Master’s)
- Possess a minimum of 3 months research experience
- Have a strong academic record
- Demonstrate high English proficiency
- Provide proof of enrollment for the current academic year and, if possible, the next
- MD applicants must have 3–4 years of study, relevant research experience, and a plan to pursue a PhD in Life Sciences
- NOTE: The following fields are not eligible, veterinary medicine, medical engineering, agriculture, pharmacy, zoology, and non-lab-based life science programs
