Scholarship Details
The Tongarewa Scholarship is awarded based on academic excellence and will be applied directly toward tuition fees in the year of study following the award. Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the Tongarewa Scholarship, applicants must:
- Be international students paying full international tuition fees
- Be entering their first year of an undergraduate degree, or
- Be starting a postgraduate degree (by coursework or research)
You are not eligible for this scholarship if you:
- Completed secondary school in New Zealand
- Completed the English for Academic Purposes (EAP) or Foundation Studies Programme
- Are a Study Abroad or Twinning student from one of the university’s partner institutions
- Are in your second year of the same degree program at Victoria University of Wellington
Scholarship Benefits
Successful applicants of this scholarship will receive:
- The scholarship is a partial tuition fee waiver
- Awards of $5,000 or $10,000 will be applied directly to tuition
- Funds are credited after the final withdrawal date for courses in the trimester awarded
