Scholarship Details
The University of Sheffield offers this merit-based scholarship to new international students who fulfill the university’s academic and admission criteria. The award may be combined with departmental or faculty scholarships, provided the applicant does not become classified as a sponsored student.
The scholarship is guaranteed in the first year upon selection, and may continue in subsequent years if recipients achieve a minimum of 60% overall and complete at least 120 credits in the prior academic year.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the University of Sheffield Undergraduate Merit Scholarship 2026, applicants must:
- Have received an offer for a full-time undergraduate degree at the University of Sheffield, beginning in Autumn 2026.
- Be classified as self-funded and eligible to pay overseas tuition fees.
- Not be a sponsored student.
- Be entering Year 1 or Year 2 of their undergraduate program.
- Note that Medicine (A100/A101) and Dentistry (A200) are not eligible for this scholarship.
- MArch programs are considered postgraduate and therefore not eligible under this undergraduate scholarship scheme.
- The University reserves the right to update or modify scholarship provisions where necessary.

- Competitive tuition fee reduction of £10,000 per academic year for eligible undergraduate degree programs starting in Autumn 2026.
