Scholarship Details
This scholarship opportunity focuses on a research project analyzing how forestry practices and land-use/land-cover affect the thermal landscapes of rivers in Mississippi.
The selected student will work under the supervision of:
- Dr. Sandra Correa — Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Aquaculture
- Dr. Padmanava Dash — Department of Geosciences, Mississippi State University (MSU)
The program encourages applicants with strong interest in environmental sciences, geospatial analysis, and ecological systems research.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, forest engineering, agricultural engineering, environmental sciences, geosciences, geography, or related fields.
- Have knowledge of remote sensing and satellite imagery analysis.
- Demonstrate technical ability using ArcGIS Pro, Python, or Google Earth Engine (highly desirable).
- Possess excellent written and spoken English skills.
- For non-native English speakers: TOEFL 550 PBT / 79 iBT OR IELTS 6.5 (for MSU Graduate School admission).
- GRE scores are optional.
