The scholarship is available to students enrolling in a graduate research degree at the University of Melbourne and conducting research in the field of Human Rights.

Eligibility Criteria
To be qualified for The University of Melbourne Human Rights Scholarship, applicants must:
- Have applied for and meet the entry requirements for a Master’s or Doctorate by research degree commencing in the award year
- Intend to undertake graduate research in the field of Human Rights
- Not have already completed a research qualification at the same or higher level as the proposed course
- Not have previously received a graduate research scholarship
Scholarship Benefits
Successful applicants of The University of Melbourne Human Rights Scholarship will receive:
- Living allowance of $43,500 per year (pro rata for 2025 full-time study rate), up to 2 years for Master’s and 3.5 years for PhD students
- Full tuition fee offset for up to 2 years (Masters) or up to 4 years (PhD)
- Relocation grant of $2,000 for students moving from other Australian States/Territories or $3,000 for those moving from outside Australia
- Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) Single Membership for international students requiring a student visa
