Scholarship Details

The University of Kent has announced the inaugural Burnett Scholarship scheme for the 2026/27 academic session, targeted at applicants from Africa’s KAZA region who are seeking admission into the DICE Master’s programme.

Funded through the generosity of the Notsew Orm Sands Foundation, the university plans to award up to six fully funded scholarships annually over a three-year period. Successful candidates will be offered a complete studentship for the taught MSc in Conservation Science, beginning in September 2026, at the Durrell Institute of Conservation and Ecology (DICE).

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the DICE MSc Burnett Scholarships 2026, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a national of, or hold official refugee status in Angola, Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, or Zimbabwe
  • Possess at least two years of professional experience in the conservation sector
  • Hold a good undergraduate degree, equivalent to a UK Second Class Upper (2:1) or higher
  • Meet UK Visas and Immigration requirements and satisfy the University of Kent English language conditions
