The Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships are funded by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC), which operates under the UK government’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office.
These scholarships are designed for students from low and middle-income Commonwealth countries who are unable to study in the UK without financial assistance, offering them the chance to study part-time and remotely at UK universities.
The 2025 application window is currently open and will close on May 20, 2025.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the University of Edinburgh Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarship 2025, applicants must:
- Be a citizen of or hold refugee status in an eligible Commonwealth country, or be a British Protected Person
- Be permanently and continually resident in an eligible Commonwealth country
- Hold at least an upper second-class (2:1) undergraduate degree. In some cases, a lower qualification with relevant experience may be considered
- Be unable to afford the programme without this scholarship
- Provide at least one reference
