The University of Calgary Graduate Scholarship 2026 offers fully funded positions as part of a high-impact collaborative research initiative between the university and key industry partners, supported by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC).
This opportunity is based in the Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering, Schulich School of Engineering, under the supervision of Professor Anne Benneker. The selected candidates will work closely with industrial collaborators and gain exposure to various stages of the innovation pipeline, from research development to application.
Two highly motivated, full-time graduate students (MSc/PhD) will be recruited to join this dynamic research team, engaging in meaningful research that intersects academic excellence and real-world industrial application.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the University of Calgary Graduate Scholarship 2026, applicants must have:
- A B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering or a closely related discipline, preferably with experience in separation processes or material development
- Demonstrated ability in designing and conducting laboratory experiments
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research ethically and critically
- Maintain detailed records of procedures and findings
- Lead the development of scientific publications for peer-reviewed journals
- Present research outcomes to both industry partners and academic audiences
- Coordinate collaborative tasks with other research teams
- Support day-to-day lab operations
- Contribute to Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (EDIA) initiatives
