Scholarship Details
The Affiliated Fellowship Program is administered by the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies at UBC. Each year, around 50 fellowships are awarded to outstanding students engaged in full-time graduate studies or research.
The selection process is based on academic excellence, and the fellowship is open to both current and incoming graduate students at UBC, regardless of their nationality or immigration status. The value of the awards ranges from $175 to $40,000, with most recipients receiving around $16,000.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the UBC Affiliated Fellowship, applicants must:
- Be Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or international students
- Have achieved first-class standing in each of the last two years of full-time academic work
- Be currently enrolled in, applying to, or planning to apply for full-time admission to a graduate program at UBC
- Be registered as full-time graduate students at UBC’s Vancouver campus by September 2025
- Meet all eligibility conditions of the Canada Graduate Scholarships – Doctoral program to be considered for this fellowship
Scholarship Benefits
Successful applicants will receive the following funding:
- For master’s students: Fellowship amounts ranging from $175 to $16,000
- For doctoral students: Fellowship amounts ranging from $175 to $40,000
