The University of Birmingham is pleased to offer the Islam Scholarship to outstanding students from around the world who wish to pursue advanced study in Islamic Studies. The scholarship is funded through the Islam Fund, which supports scholarly engagement in Islam and Christian-Muslim Relations at the university.
The award provides financial support by covering up to 100% of tuition fees—whether at home or international rates—for students enrolling in the MA Islamic Studies programme. Funding is only considered once applicants have submitted an academic application to study the programme and intend to begin their studies in the 2026 academic year.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the University of Birmingham Islam Scholarship, applicants must:
- Be classified as Home or Overseas students
- Apply for the MA Islamic Studies programme and be ready to commence studies at the start of the 2026 academic year
- Submit a funding application alongside a programme application
- Intend to return to their country of ordinary residence after completing their studies
- Not be receiving any other scholarship or external funding
