Scholarship Details

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Internship is hosted by the Unit of Information and Technology Management (ITM) in Copenhagen, Denmark. This unit provides ICT and Green Energy support services to UNDP Country Offices across the globe. As the development arm of the United Nations, UNDP operates in 170 countries with over 17,000 staff members, tackling critical global challenges such as extreme poverty, climate change, governance, renewable energy, crisis prevention, and women’s empowerment.

For the 2026 intake, UNDP is recruiting ten (10) interns for the People Development Intern position at its Copenhagen office. The program seeks candidates with knowledge or experience in areas such as onboarding and people management development, leadership development, capability development, career development, data and knowledge management, evaluation, and communication. This internship provides participants with valuable exposure to international development operations while contributing meaningfully to organizational objectives.

Eligibility Criteria

To be qualified for the UNDP Internship 2026, applicants must meet at least one of the following educational requirements:

  • Be currently enrolled in a graduate-level program (Master’s degree or equivalent, or higher)
  • Be in the final year of a Bachelor’s degree program (or equivalent)
  • Have completed a Bachelor’s degree or higher and must begin the internship within one year of graduation

Applicants must also:

  • Possess strong IT skills
  • Have proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Streams, Forms, SharePoint, Power BI, Power Automate)
  • Have knowledge of software design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Illustrator, InDesign) – considered an advantage
  • Be familiar with online course authoring tools such as Articulate 360 (Storyline, RISE), Captivate, and HTML5 – considered an asset
  • Be fluent in English (knowledge of French and/or Spanish is an added advantage)
  • Be from any country worldwide

Internship Duration and Benefits

Successful applicants of the UNDP Internship will receive:

  • A 6-month internship placement (February 2 – July 31, 2026)
  • Monthly stipend (approximately $1000 per month for Copenhagen duty station)
  • Professional training and international work experience
  • Exposure to global development initiatives
  • Stipend paid monthly (part-time arrangements will be prorated accordingly)
