The scholarship covers tuition fees, accommodation, travel costs, living stipends, study materials, and a laptop for selected candidates to study in Rwanda.

Scholarship Details
The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at UGHE is designed to develop the next generation of health leaders across the African continent. Through this initiative, highly talented young Africans who are committed to improving healthcare systems and promoting health equity will have the opportunity to pursue Master’s programs in Global Health Delivery (MGHD) or Health Professions Education (MHPE).
The program specifically prioritizes young women, individuals with disabilities, and youth who have experienced displacement or have refugee status. Scholars will receive not only academic support but also mentorship and leadership development aimed at equipping them to drive meaningful change in their communities and the wider health sector in Africa.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be Africans, including young women, persons with disabilities, refugees, or displaced individuals.
- Have completed and successfully graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field.
- Be 35 years old or younger at the time of application (with exceptions for applicants with disabilities).
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to transformative leadership and improving health outcomes.
- Have shown community involvement and passion for health equity beyond classroom activities.
