Scholarship Details
The International Higher Education Scholarship Program under TaiwanICDF is designed to provide exceptional students from partner nations with the opportunity to study in Taiwan. Through collaborations with recognized universities, the program helps develop skilled professionals, supports socio-economic growth, and exposes students to Taiwan’s reputable education system.
Since 1998, TaiwanICDF has expanded this initiative through the Taiwan International Cooperation Alliance (TICA), which enhances coordination and institutional partnerships for international scholars.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the TaiwanICDF Government of Taiwan Scholarship, applicants must:
- Be a citizen of a country listed as eligible for the TaiwanICDF Scholarship
- Not be a citizen of the Republic of China (Taiwan) and not be an overseas compatriot student
- Meet the admission requirements of the partner university offering the program
- Fulfill all visa criteria for a Resident Visa (FS Code) and an Alien Resident Certificate (ARC); scholarships may be withdrawn if visa conditions are not met
Scholarship Benefits
Successful applicants will receive:
- Airfare: Round-trip economy class flight provided by TaiwanICDF
- Accommodation: Mandatory stay in student dormitories
- Tuition Fees: Fully covered based on university requirements
- Credit Fees: Paid according to the registered credit load
- Insurance: Full accident and medical coverage for the study period
- Books: Textbook costs covered with institutional approval
- Monthly Allowance:
- Undergraduate: NT$15,000
- Master’s: NT$18,000
- PhD: NT$20,000
Paid monthly into the student’s local bank account
Required Documents
Applicants must submit:
- Passport or official proof of nationality
- Highest academic certificate and transcripts
- English proficiency certificate
- Two reference letters
- Any extra documents required by a Taiwan Embassy, Consulate, or Representative Office
- Note: Undergraduate programs only accept applicants from Taiwan’s allied countries

- Apply for only one program at a time
- Submit a separate university application to the chosen partner school
- Meet all document requirements set by the partner university
- Taiwan Embassies, Consulates, and Representative Offices will conduct the first eligibility review
