The Taiwan International Internship Program (TIIP) is an intensive pre-doctoral research training initiative designed for international students seeking scientific exposure and hands-on research experience. The program is hosted by Academia Sinica, Taiwan’s leading research institution, in collaboration with partner universities across the country.

Eligibility Criteria
To be qualified for the Taiwan International Internship Program (TIIP) 2026, applicants must fall under one of the following categories:
- Undergraduate students in their final year
- Master’s degree students
- Individuals who already hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
Note: The following categories are not eligible to apply:
- Students currently enrolled in a PhD program
- Applicants who have previously participated in the TIIP program
- Current employees or research assistants at Academia Sinica
Scholarship Benefits
Successful applicants of the Taiwan International Internship Program 2026 will receive:
- NTD 30,000 monthly stipend (before tax)
- Half of the cheapest economy-class round-trip airfare from the participant’s home country to Taipei
- Note: If interns are traveling from the same location in the same batch, reimbursement will be based on the lowest available fare (maximum of NTD 15,000)
- On-campus accommodation at an affordable rate
- Opportunity to acquire scientific education, receive hands-on research training, and learn the Chinese language
Internship Duration
- Internship Length: 2 months
- Cohorts:
- 1st Cohort: 1st May – 30th June
- 2nd Cohort: 1st June – 31st July
- 3rd Cohort: 1st July – 31st August
