Scholarship Benefits

Successful applicants of the Swedish Institute Scholarships will receive:

  • Full tuition fee coverage, paid directly to the university by the Swedish Institute
  • Monthly living allowance of SEK 12,000 to cover accommodation, food, transport, and daily expenses
  • One-time travel grant
    • SEK 15,000 for most countries
    • SEK 10,000 for students from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine
  • Membership in the SI Network for Global Professionals (NFGP) for leadership development and professional networking
  • Access to the Sweden Alumni Network after graduation for continued professional growth

Eligibility Criteria

To be qualified for the Swedish Institute Scholarships 2026/2027, applicants must:

  • Be a citizen of an eligible country
  • Have at least 3,000 hours of documented work experience
  • Demonstrate leadership experience through employment
  • Show leadership involvement in civil society or community activities
  • Be admitted to an eligible Master’s program in Sweden

How to Apply

To apply for the Swedish Institute Scholarships 2026/2027:

  • Save your personal application number issued after submitting your university application
  • Apply separately for the SI Scholarship for Global Professionals during February 2026
  • Apply for up to four Master’s programs, ensuring they are eligible for the SI Scholarship
  • Enter your personal application number correctly when submitting the SI Scholarship application

Scholarship Deadline and Key Dates

  • 16 October 2025 – 15 January 2026: Apply for Master’s programs
  • Mid-November 2025: SI Scholarship documents and eligible program list released
  • 9 – 25 February 2026: SI Scholarship application portal opens
  • 26 March 2026: University admission results announced
  • 23 April 2026: SI Scholarship results announced
