The Southern Illinois University Scholarship 2026 is a graduate assistantship designed for international students interested in pursuing either a Master’s or PhD degree in the United States. The opportunity is offered through the Freshwater Ecology Lab at Southern Illinois University, which is seeking an exceptional candidate to begin studies in the Spring or Fall of 2026.
The scholarship allows the selected student to conduct research on a variety of topics within freshwater ecosystems. Possible research areas include host diet nutrient content, parasites in the Daphnia-microbe host-parasite system, and other related ecological studies. Students will also be encouraged to design a project that aligns with their personal career aspirations, with flexibility to explore alternative host-parasite systems or broader ecological research questions.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the Southern Illinois University Graduate Scholarship 2026, applicants must:
- Be highly motivated and independent.
- Hold a B.S. or M.S. in Biology, Ecology, Zoology, or a closely related field.
- Possess strong writing and analytical skills, as well as a proven work ethic.
