Applications for the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, RMIT University Scholarship commencing in 2026 are now open.
RSS scholarships are funded by the Australian government and RRSS scholarships are funded by RMIT University. When you apply for a research scholarship through one of the University’s rounds, you will automatically be considered for all the scholarships for which you are eligible.
Eligibility Criteria
To be qualified for the RMIT University Scholarship 2026, applicants must:
- Have a bachelor’s degree requiring at least four years of full-time study in a relevant discipline awarded with honours
- Have achieved at least a credit average in the final year
- Submit a master’s degree that includes a research component comprising at least 25% of a full-time (or part-time equivalent) academic year
- Be considered by RMIT as having an equivalent level of academic attainment, taking into account previous study, relevant work experience, research publications and other research experience
- Not have already completed a graduate research program at the same or higher course level
- Not have previously held an RMIT or Commonwealth-funded postgraduate research scholarship unless it was terminated within six months of commencement
Scholarship Benefits
Successful applicants of the RMIT University Scholarship 2026 will receive:
- A stipend of $35,886 per annum pro rata (full-time study)
- An RTP International Tuition Fee Offset Scholarship (RIFOS) or RMIT Research International Tuition Fee Scholarship (RRITFS) for international students
- An RTP Fee Offset scholarship for local students (Australian and New Zealand citizens or permanent residents of Australia)
- Full tuition coverage for the duration of the program
- A relocation allowance of up to $515 per adult and $255 per child, up to a maximum of $1,540
- Paid sick, maternity, and parenting leave
