Scholarship Details

The Oregon State University Graduate Scholarship seeks to support a motivated PhD student who will work on the development of spatially explicit decision models for the conservation of at-risk species on Department of Defense (DoD) lands.

The successful scholar will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of scientists and conservation experts to design decision support tools that integrate species distribution modeling, population dynamics, multi-criteria decision analysis, and cost-effectiveness optimization.

This program provides a unique opportunity to work directly with DoD scientists, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service biologists, and land managers, translating scientific models into practical conservation strategies. The outcomes of this research will directly guide multi-million-dollar conservation investments and play a pivotal role in species recovery planning while supporting military land-use requirements.
