Scholarship Details
Dr. Bing Yuan (Assistant Professor at Oregon Institute of Technology) is currently seeking two highly motivated master’s students with strong interest in crop physiology and environmental stress research.
The selected students will work on one of the following research projects:
- Project 1: Stable Carbon Isotope Fractionation and Fruit Respiration
- Focuses on developing an innovative method using stable carbon isotope fractionation.
- Aims to monitor the impact of heat stress on fruit respiration pathways.
- Examines the relationship between respiration pathways and fruit productivity.
- Project 2: Role of Abscisic Acid (ABA) in Heat Stress Tolerance
- Investigates the function of the plant hormone abscisic acid (ABA).
- Explores its role in tomato plant development and fruit ripening.
- Focuses on ABA’s involvement in heat stress response and resistance mechanisms.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the Oregon Institute of Technology Scholarship, applicants must:

- Chemistry

- Or a closely related discipline
