Scholarship Details
The North West Development Commission (NWDC), established under the NWDC Act, 2024, is committed to fostering sustainable development, education, and innovation across the North-West region of Nigeria.
As part of its strategic mandate, the Commission invites applications for the 2025/2026 NWDC Foreign Scholarship Programme to support outstanding individuals in pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate degrees at reputable international institutions.
The NWDC Scholarship aims to empower talented youths from the North-West region by providing them with access to world-class education and professional opportunities that will contribute to regional and national development.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the NWDC Overseas Scholarship, applicants must:
- Be an indigene of any of the North-Western states: Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Sokoto, or Zamfara
For Undergraduate Applicants:
- Have Distinctions in 3 core science subjects
- Have 5 credits in not more than two sittings
- Be 22 years old or younger at the time of application
For Master’s Applicants:
- Have a minimum CGPA of 3.8 in undergraduate studies
- Be no older than 35 years
For PhD Applicants:
- Have a minimum CGPA of 4.0/5.0 in Master’s Degree
- Be no older than 40 years
Additional requirements:
- NYSC discharge or exemption certificate (for postgraduate applicants)
- Valid international passport
- Strong academic records
- A clearly written letter of motivation
