The Midwestern Oil and Gas Company Limited, operator of the Umutsege Field in OML 56, Delta State, in partnership with SunTrust Oil Company Nigeria Limited, invites qualified Nigerian students to apply for the Midwestern Oil and Gas Scholarship Scheme for the 2026/27 academic session. Since the commencement of production operations, the company has implemented several initiatives aimed at fostering sustainable development in its host communities and across Delta State. One of the key ways the organization achieves this is through continuous investment in education and human capital development.
The scholarship program seeks to encourage academic excellence while providing financial support to deserving students pursuing university education in Nigeria. Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the Midwestern Oil and Gas University Scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements depending on the award category:
UNIVERSITY COMMUNITY AWARD – For Host Communities Only
Applicants must:
- Be 100 level or 200 level students at the time of application
- Possess a minimum of five (5) credits in SSCE or GCE, including Mathematics and English Language, obtained in one sitting
- Provide JAMB/UTME and University Admission Letter from an accredited Nigerian university
- Present a valid University ID Card
- Provide an identification letter signed by the Ward Councilor or the Community Accredited Contact-men Committee (CACC)
UNIVERSITY MERIT AWARD – For Delta State Indigenes Only
Applicants must:
- Be 200 level students at the time of application
- Have a minimum CGPA of 3.5 from their first year in the university
- Possess at least five (5) SSCE or GCE credits, including Mathematics and English Language, obtained in one sitting
- Provide JAMB/UTME and University Admission Letter from an accredited Nigerian university
- Present a valid University ID Card
- Submit official evidence of their first-year CGPA (3.5 and above)
- Provide a Letter of Identification from their Local Government Area (LGA)
Scholarship Benefits
Successful candidates selected for the Midwestern Oil and Gas Scholarship will receive:
- ₦150,000 financial support annually
- The scholarship is renewable every year until the student graduates, provided the recipient maintains the required academic performance.
