Scholarship Details
The scholarship is funded by the Flemish Ministry of Education and Training to support outstanding students enrolling in master’s programs across Flanders and Brussels. Each selected recipient receives a €10,000 grant and a complete tuition fee waiver for an academic year (60 ECTS), while only an administrative enrolment fee is required.
The grant is released in instalments and is intended to cover accommodation, insurance, and a substantial portion of the student’s living expenses. Interested applicants must first apply to a participating Flemish host institution before being considered for nomination.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify, applicants must:
- Demonstrate excellent academic performance, reflected in a high GPA on the transcript
- Have obtained their previous degree(s) from institutions outside Flanders (students with past short-term mobility in Flanders remain eligible)
- Provide proof of strong English proficiency if English is not their first language
- Not be currently enrolled in a Flemish higher education institution
- Not hold another Flemish Government Scholarship or Erasmus Mundus Scholarship

- Submit a complete application for an eligible master’s program before 15 January 2026, 23:59 CET, including the KU Leuven Scholarships & Master Mind Candidacy Form
- Register your Master Mind candidacy through the online tool before 15 January 2026
- After the deadline, KU Leuven master’s programs will nominate interested and eligible candidates
- The KU Leuven Selection Commission will shortlist up to 20 nominees for the Flemish-level evaluation
- The nominated students will be informed of their preselection before 15 April 2026
- The final nominees must complete the Flemish Government online Master Mind application form
- The Flemish Government Selection Commission will make the final awards, announced in late May or early June
