Scholarships Details

The SIMSIS Laboratory in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Louisiana State University is offering multiple graduate research positions for highly motivated Master’s and PhD students starting in Fall 2025, Spring 2026, and possibly Fall 2026.

The research focus includes Structural Health Monitoring (SHM), assessment of civil infrastructure systems, and the development of civil infrastructure Digital Twins.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Louisiana State University Scholarships 2026, applicants must meet the following:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Solid background in SHM and core structural engineering disciplines
  • Experience with finite element modeling and digital modeling techniques
  • Proven research and scientific writing experience
  • Interest in multidisciplinary research involving engineering, computer science, and visualization

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Practical SHM testing experience on real-world infrastructure
  • Knowledge of Digital Twin frameworks and their applications
  • Programming skills in languages such as Python, ROS, C#, C++, Unity, or Blender
  • Experience with mobile robotics and artificial intelligence tools
  • Familiarity with immersive visualization technologies (VR, AR, MR)
