Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the Latvia Government Scholarships 2026, applicants must meet the following conditions:
- Applicants must select a study programme at a Latvian Higher Education Institution (HEI) before applying
- Applicants must obtain a confirmation letter for the chosen study programme from the Latvian HEI before submitting the scholarship application
- Applicants already studying at a Latvian HEI must also provide a confirmation letter for their current or selected programme
- The confirmation letter must be issued by the designated contact person at the Latvian HEI
- International students can receive the Latvian State Scholarship for a maximum of two terms

Scholarship Benefits
Successful applicants for the Latvia Government Scholarships 2026 will receive:
- €500 per month for Bachelor’s students (and 2nd level professional higher education students for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd study year)
- €600 per month for Master’s students (and 2nd level professional higher education students from the 4th study year)
- €700 per month for PhD students
