The Kofi Annan Fellowship is a fully funded leadership programme that provides fellows with access to digital and residential learning resources, travel support, insurance, and daily allowances during residential placements.

Scholarship Details
The Kofi Annan Global Health Leadership Programme is designed to support emerging and experienced public health leaders from Africa to acquire advanced competencies required to strategically plan, manage, and lead public health programmes capable of transforming health outcomes across the continent.
The programme was launched by the African Union Commission through the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) on 25 May 2020, in partnership with the Kofi Annan Foundation, following its approval by the Africa CDC Governing Board in March 2018. The initiative contributes to the development and implementation of a new public health order for Africa.
Fellows selected into the programme are senior public health professionals from African Union Member States who will play leadership roles in strengthening public health systems while mentoring and developing the next generation of public health leaders across Africa.
Eligibility Criteria
To be qualified for the Kofi Annan Global Health Leadership Programme, applicants must:
- Be a citizen of an African Union Member State
- Hold a postgraduate degree in a public health–related field
- Possess a minimum of 10 years professional experience after obtaining a Master’s degree
- Be in full-time employment within a public or private health institution
- Demonstrate proven or potential leadership capacity in public health
