Through this program, selected engineers will support workshop supervisors in technical and quality-related operations involving repair, servicing, and maintenance of equipment. Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the Julius Berger Engineer Development Program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Automobile Engineering, or a related technical field
- Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in maintenance, repairs, fleet management, or engineering support within PED
- A written recommendation letter from the current Supervisor or Manager confirming good conduct, discipline, technical suitability, and readiness for development
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and workshop documentation
- Good diagnostic and problem-solving abilities

Roles and Responsibilities of PED Workshop Engineers
Selected engineers under this program will:
- Support the Workshop Supervisor in all technical and quality-related aspects of repair, service, and maintenance activities
- Review work orders and determine appropriate repair methods, tools, and materials for efficient execution
- Assist in troubleshooting, diagnostics, and identification of alternative or temporary repair solutions
- Conduct or support in-process and final inspections to ensure quality, functionality, and safety standards are met
- Ensure test runs and functional checks are carried out safely by authorized and licensed personnel
- Accurately document inspection results, measurements, and quality findings in designated records
- Report deviations, recurring failures, or non-conformities and contribute to root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Support the implementation of Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM) and monitor technical performance indicators
- Provide on-the-job technical guidance and knowledge transfer to mechanics, electricians, and technicians
- Ensure compliance with workshop standards, safety procedures, and PED safety guidelines
- Support supervisors in enforcing discipline, order, and proper use of tools and materials
