The Islamic Development Bank Scholarship Program is a flagship initiative aimed at developing human capital across IsDB member countries and Muslim communities in non-member countries. The IsDB Scholarship comprises several targeted funding streams, each structured to address specific educational and developmental needs. These include programs for undergraduate studies, postgraduate training, advanced research, and postdoctoral studies, all designed to strengthen technical capacity, innovation, and leadership within beneficiary communities.
Eligibility Criteria
To be qualified for the IsDB Scholarship Program, applicants must:
- Be in financial need, without which continuation of studies may not be possible
- Meet the age limits:
- Maximum of 24 years for Undergraduate
- Maximum of 30 years for Master’s
- Maximum of 35 years for PhD
- Maximum of 40 years for Postdoctoral programs
- Not be an IsDB staff member, Executive Director, or a close relative (mother, father, sibling, child, aunt, uncle, niece, or nephew)
- Have completed senior secondary education or its equivalent with strong grades in major science subjects
- Provide evidence of language proficiency in the medium of instruction, supported by official documentation
- Submit certified English or French translations of documents if originally issued in another language
- Be medically fit and willing to undergo medical examination after selection
- Preferably have secured admission in an eligible discipline at a recognized institution in their home country
- Not be residing outside their home country
- Not be a beneficiary of another scholarship during the application period or course of study
