Scholarship Details
The Hauwa Ojeifo Scholarship seeks to empower emerging leaders addressing urgent challenges faced by women and girls—ranging from gender-based violence, child marriage, reproductive health, maternal care, mental health, and disability rights. Named after Hauwa Ojeifo—a Nigerian mental health advocate and One Young World Ambassador—the scholarship provides beneficiaries with the tools, mentorship, knowledge, and global platform to drive transformative change.
Through this initiative, selected scholars will gain fully-funded access to the One Young World Summit in Munich (3–6 November 2025), join the Ambassador community for life, participate in Action Accelerator programmes, receive expert mentorship, and become eligible to apply for grants up to $25,000 USD to scale their projects,
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be aged 18–30 (strong applicants slightly over 30 may be considered)
- Reside in and be impactful in Africa, Asia, or the Middle East
- Lead or play a key leadership role in initiatives addressing at least one of the following themes:
- Mental health (including neurodivergence & psychosocial disabilities)
- Domestic & sexual violence
- Disability rights & older persons’ rights
- Sexual & reproductive health and rights (SRHR)
- Maternal & child health
- Girl child issues (e.g. FGM, adolescent pregnancy, child marriage)
- Non-communicable diseases
- Ideally integrate psychosocial support and disability-inclusive approaches within their work
