The fellowship covers stipend, visa fees, international flight expenses, meals, and accommodation for all selected candidates throughout the duration of the program.

Program Details
Applications are now open for the Harvard LEAD Fellows Program 2026/27, a one-year fellowship jointly hosted by Harvard University’s Global Health Institute and the Women and Health Initiative. The program will run in two parts: a virtual component during the Fall semester and an in-person residency at Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts during the Spring semester.
The fellowship will commence on September 1, 2026, and conclude on August 31, 2027. The in-person phase will last for six weeks in April 2027, offering fellows direct exposure to Harvard’s world-class faculty, research resources, and global health networks. The program is designed to empower global health professionals by enhancing their leadership skills and expanding their influence in their respective home countries.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the Harvard LEAD Fellowship Program 2026, applicants must:
- Possess a minimum of a master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Be currently working full-time in the field of global health.
- Have at least 10 years of professional experience (work completed during university study is not counted).
- Obtain the full support of their employer and a champion within their organization who will serve as a reference.
- Be willing to take a leave of absence (or equivalent) from their institution during the 6-week in-residence period in April 2027.
- Be able to reside in Boston, Massachusetts during the in-person component.
- Nominate themselves by submitting an official application.
