Essay Questions for the Generation Google Scholarship

Applicants are required to respond to the following two essay questions (maximum 500 words each):

  • Describe a time you encountered a complex problem with no clear solution. What steps did you take to resolve it? What resources did you use, and what did you learn from the experience?
  • From personal experience, identify a barrier to equitable access in tech. What do you believe is the root cause? What actions have you taken to address this barrier, and what are your future plans to continue addressing it? At least half of your response should focus on the actions taken.
