Scholarship Details
Applications are currently open for the 2026 edition of the Flour Mills of Nigeria (FMN) Prize for Innovation Competition. FMN Plc, a leading food and agro-allied company in Africa, established this initiative to promote creative thinking in food production, engineering, and agricultural innovation, while driving sustainable food systems across Nigeria.
Each year, the competition spotlights a vital segment of the food value chain that plays a key role in strengthening and transforming Nigeria’s agricultural ecosystem. The fifth edition (FMN PFI 5.0) centers on Innovative Practices in Cassava Production and Processing, encouraging forward-thinking solutions that can improve efficiency, sustainability, and value addition in cassava-related operations.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the FMN Prize for Innovation Competition, applicants must meet the criteria below:
SME Category (For Registered Nigerian SMEs in the Food and Agro-Allied Sector)
- Registered Nigerian Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs)
- Actively operating within the food and agro-allied sector
- Providing innovative solutions in cassava production, processing, or value addition
Student Category (For Students with Innovative Ideas to Transform Cassava Production and Processing in Nigeria)
- Nigerian undergraduate or postgraduate students
- Enrolled in recognized tertiary institutions
- Presenting innovative ideas addressing challenges in cassava production and processing

SME Category
- First Prize: ₦5,000,000
- Second Prize: ₦3,000,000
- Third Prize: ₦2,000,000
Student Category
- First Prize: ₦300,000
- Second Prize: ₦200,000
- Third Prize: ₦100,000
