Scholarship Details
The Opekete Foundation is pleased to announce the 2025/26 Florence Bamidele Makanjuola (FBM) Scholarships for aspiring nurses and educators in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
This scholarship is dedicated to the memory of the late Mrs. Florence Bamidele Makanjuola, a passionate educator and nurse who advocated for female empowerment and quality education. To continue her legacy, her family has established the Florence Fund to support young women with the ambition to impact the fields of education and healthcare.
The foundation is committed to providing financial aid to outstanding students attending public schools and universities in Nigeria.
Eligibility Criteria
To be qualified for the Florence Bamidele Makanjuola (FBM) Scholarship, applicants must:
- Be a female Nigerian citizen
- Have gained admission into or be currently enrolled in a public university or Senior Secondary School in Nigeria
- Be attending or intending to attend a federal or state government-owned secondary school or university
- Be interested in or studying Nursing or Teaching in STEM fields
Academic Qualifications
Secondary School Applicants:
- Minimum of 5 Distinctions (A or B) in English, Mathematics, and 3 major subjects in Junior WAEC
University Applicants:
- Minimum of 5 Distinctions (A1 – B3) in English, Mathematics, and 3 major subjects in WAEC/NECO at one sitting
- Must have met the required JAMB cut-off score for the course and institution
Scholarship Benefits
Successful applicants of the Florence Bamidele Makanjuola Scholarship will receive:
- Secondary School Students: Up to ₦350,000 per annum
- University Students: Up to ₦650,000 per annum
