Following the rollout of the Federal Government’s Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Initiative, applications have now been opened specifically for trainers under the FG TVET Initiative Program.
The FG TVET Initiative Program for Trainers is designed for Skill Training Centres (STCs), Vocational Enterprise Institutions (VEIs), and Mastercraft Persons (MCPs) who will equip Nigerians with industry-relevant skills, promote entrepreneurship, and help reduce youth unemployment across the country.

Program Details
The FG TVET Initiative registration for trainers is coordinated by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) under the supervision of the Federal Ministry of Education. Through this initiative, the Federal Government is accrediting qualified trainers and training institutions nationwide to support the large-scale implementation of the TVET program.
The program is structured to strengthen Nigeria’s technical and vocational education ecosystem by ensuring that training providers meet nationally approved standards and deliver skills aligned with labour market needs. NBTE, as an agency of the Federal Ministry of Education, is responsible for regulating and maintaining quality assurance across Technical and Vocational Education and Training institutions in Nigeria.
Eligibility Criteria
1. Mastercraft Persons (MCPs)
- CAC Registration or National Identification Number (NIN)
- Adoption of NSQ-Based Curricula
- Minimum of one qualified and experienced Senior Artisan/Craftsperson per program
- Availability of essential physical facilities, including workshops and restrooms
- Evidence of prior training experience, including programs conducted, training levels, and certifications issued
2. Vocational Enterprise Institutions (VEIs)
- Proof of registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC)
- Adoption of NSQ-Based Curricula
- Minimum of one qualified instructor per trade with a ratio of 1 instructor to 40 students
- At least one Quality Assurance Assessor (QAA) per trade
- One certified Internal Quality Assurance Manager (IQAM) assigned to the institution
- Availability of essential infrastructure such as workshops, studios, field facilities, classrooms, offices, and restrooms
- Documented evidence of previous training programs, levels offered, and certifications awarded
3. Skill Training Centres (STCs)
- Proof of registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC)
- Adoption of NSQ-Based Curricula
- Minimum of one qualified and experienced Senior Artisan/Craftsperson or Instructor per program with at least NSQ Level 3 certification
- At least one Quality Assurance Assessor (QAA) per trade
- One certified Internal Quality Assurance Manager (IQAM) assigned to the training centre
- Adequate technical and support staff for each workshop
- Provision of essential physical facilities, including workshops, studios, field training areas, offices, and restrooms
- Evidence of previous training experience, including programs delivered, levels of training, and certifications awarded
Program Benefits
Successful trainers under the FG TVET Initiative Program will receive:
- ₦45,000 monthly stipend per student trained

Note: While students enrolled in the TVET program receive a monthly stipend of ₦22,500, accredited trainers receive ₦45,000 per student.
