Program Details
This initiative, led by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) under the Ministry of Education, is part of a national push to upskill Nigerians and reduce unemployment through Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).
The application portal is open for trainers who meet the necessary standards and are capable of delivering skill-based education in line with the National Skills Qualification (NSQ) framework. The NBTE is responsible for accrediting eligible trainers and ensuring the delivery of quality vocational education.
Eligibility Criteria
For Mastercraft Persons (MCPs):
- Must possess CAC registration or a valid National Identification Number
- Should follow NSQ-Based Curricula
- Must have at least one experienced senior artisan or craftsperson per training program
- Must provide functional training space including workshops and restrooms
- Must show proof of previous training experience and certifications awarded
For Vocational Enterprise Institutions (VEIs):
- Must be registered with CAC
- Must implement NSQ-Based Curricula
- Must have a minimum of one qualified instructor per trade, with a 1:40 teacher-student ratio
- Must include one QAA and one certified IQAM per trade
- Must provide adequate training facilities including classrooms, workshops, offices, and restrooms
- Must present training history and certifications awarded
For Skill Training Centres (STCs):
- Must be CAC registered
- Must adopt NSQ-Based Curricula
- Should have at least one qualified instructor or experienced craftsperson per course, holding NSQ Level 3 or higher
- Must include one QAA and one certified IQAM per trade
- Should provide essential infrastructure for practical training
- Must present evidence of previous successful training sessions
