Program Details

The Climate Youth Negotiators Programme (CYNP) is an initiative of the National Council on Climate Change (NCCC) aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s climate governance system while preparing the next generation of climate leaders. Through this programme, the Federal Government seeks to build the capacity of young professionals who are actively involved in climate-related government work.

The six-month programme focuses on developing participants’ knowledge of international climate diplomacy and negotiation strategies under global frameworks such as the United Nations climate processes. Selected participants will receive specialized training, mentorship from experienced climate negotiators, and opportunities to gain exposure to global climate policy discussions.

The initiative also seeks to ensure stronger youth representation in international climate negotiations by preparing Nigerian youth to contribute meaningfully to discussions that shape climate policies affecting Africa and other developing nations.

Eligibility Criteria
