Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the FAO Internship Program 2026, applicants must:
- Be currently enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate, or postgraduate degree program in a recognized institution (listed in the IAU/UNESCO database) or be recent graduates.
- Specialize in a field relevant to FAO’s mandate.
- Possess working knowledge of at least one FAO official language (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, or Spanish). Knowledge of an additional FAO language is considered an advantage.
- Provide valid language proficiency certificates only from UN-accredited external providers or FAO official examinations.
- Be nationals of FAO Member Nations.
- Be aged between 21 and 30 years old at the time of application.
- Demonstrate adaptability to multicultural environments and strong communication skills.
- Not have immediate family members (parents, siblings) employed at FAO under any contract type.
- Possess appropriate residence or immigration status for the internship location before commencement.
Internship Benefits
Successful applicants of the FAO Internship Program will receive:
- A monthly stipend of up to $700 (for those not sponsored by universities or other entities).
- Medical coverage for the duration of the internship.
- Practical work experience in an international, multicultural environment.
- Internship duration ranging from 3 to 11 months.
