The Erasmus Mundus EMIMEP Scholarship (European Master for Industry in Microwave Electronics and Photonics) is a European Union–funded master’s programme running from September 2023 to October 2029, designed to train highly skilled professionals in the fields of microwave electronics and photonics.
The programme introduces new initiatives aimed at improving academic quality while strengthening collaboration between universities, industries, and research institutes across Europe. It is structured to provide students with advanced technical knowledge, hands-on experience, and international exposure through study periods in multiple European countries.
The EMIMEP consortium consists of leading European universities including University of Limoges (France), University of Brescia (Italy), University of the Basque Country (Spain), and the Abbe School of Photonics at Friedrich Schiller University of Jena (Germany). Together, these institutions deliver a specialized master’s programme that integrates academic excellence with industry-relevant training.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the Erasmus Mundus EMIMEP Scholarship, applicants must:
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Photonics, Applied Physics, or a closely related field.
- Have strong foundational knowledge in areas such as:
- Signal processing
- Electromagnetism
- Telecommunications
- Embedded systems
- Analogue and digital electronics
- Electromagnetic wave propagation
- Principles of photonics
- Provide the final grade or transcript from their bachelor’s programme (grades may be converted using the ENIC-NARIC recognition convention if necessary).
- Demonstrate relevant academic or professional experience, which may include:
- Industrial internships
- Academic projects
- Research work
- Summer jobs or practical training.
Scholarship Benefits
Successful applicants for the Erasmus Mundus EMIMEP Scholarship will receive:
- €1,400 monthly stipend for the entire duration of the programme (maximum 24 months)
- Full tuition fee coverage
- Travel expenses
