Scholarship Details
EARTH University, in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, offers the Mastercard Foundation Scholarship to young leaders from underserved and disadvantaged communities around the world. This initiative forms part of the global Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program and is designed to nurture future leaders who will drive meaningful agricultural, environmental, and economic development in their home countries.
Through this partnership, 120 students will be awarded scholarships to study at EARTH University, with approximately one-third of beneficiaries drawn from Sub-Saharan Africa and the remaining scholars from Latin America and the Caribbean. The program provides access to EARTH University’s unique, hands-on learning environment, equipping scholars with practical skills, leadership capacity, and a strong commitment to giving back to their communities.
Eligibility Criteria
To be qualified for the Earth University Mastercard Foundation Scholarship 2026, applicants must:
- Be a resident and graduating high school student from a country in Sub-Saharan Africa or Latin America
- Demonstrate significant financial need, corresponding to the lowest income brackets in their country
- Have strong academic performance within their school system
- Show a proven record of leadership and extracurricular involvement
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to returning to their region to contribute to socioeconomic development
- Be graduating from a recognized secondary school or have completed the required academic qualifications
- Meet the English language requirements, where applicable (dependent on country)
