Scholarship Details
Deakin University offers significant tuition fee reductions to students aiming to undertake studies at the institution.
This scholarship recognises individuals who have consistently shown excellent academic results and who demonstrate strong potential to contribute positively to the university and the wider community.
Awardees will be expected to participate in the Vice-Chancellor’s Professional Excellence Program, designed to enhance leadership and professional development.
Applicants who are not selected for the Deakin Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship will automatically be considered for the Deakin International Scholarship instead.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Deakin Vice-Chancellor International Scholarship, candidates must:
- Be prospective international students intending to enrol in a coursework degree at Deakin University
- Meet Deakin University’s entry requirements for their chosen programme
- Have achieved a minimum average score of 85% (or its equivalent) in prior academic studies
All listed criteria must be fulfilled.
Selection is competitive, and successful candidates may need to exceed the stated minimum academic requirements.
Scholarship Benefits
Recipients of the Deakin Vice-Chancellor International Scholarship will receive:
- Full coverage of tuition fees, or a 50% tuition fee reduction, for the standard duration of their course*
- Participation in the Vice-Chancellor’s Professional Excellence Program (VCPEP), which is mandatory for scholarship holders
- Priority consideration for on-campus accommodation (note: accommodation costs are at the student’s own expense and depend on availability)
Required Documents
Applicants must be prepared to submit the following documents:
- A completed Deakin International Scholarship Program application form (PDF, 536KB)
- A personal statement of up to 300 words
- Contact details for two referees who can speak about your leadership skills and community involvement
- A completed application for admission to Deakin University, including official academic transcripts
Your personal statement must be written by you and should include:
- Reasons for wanting to study at Deakin University
- Details of any extracurricular activities and work experiences (paid or voluntary)
- An explanation of why you would make an exceptional ambassador for Deakin University
- Any other information you believe would support your application
